Background

In response to market shifts, our client sought to align its portfolio growth to contemporary consumer preferences and improve it's overall relevance. This would involve rebuilding the product portfolio from the ground up.

We were asked to help them create a single pipeline to cohere the innovation efforts of five markets.

Approach

Over two months, we worked closely with marketing, insights and R&D leaders to scope a future portfolio framework. 

Then, during two week-long sprints, we facilitated the creation of an aligned European innovation pipeline of prioritised and scoped innovation projects, against this framework.

Through two rounds of focus groups, across markets, opportunities and concepts were explored and validated for appeal and local relevance.

Impact

A proactive 5-year innovation pipeline, aligned across 5 markets, with 20 scoped and prioritised innovation projects. 

Cross-functional alignment on innovation efforts through a data-driven portfolio framework that guides decision-making.

A range of new products launched to market within 18 months of pipeline creation.
