Background
Having demonstrated proof of principle of its innovative technology, our client secured funding for a pilot production facility in the UK and a base in China. To expand its operational and production capacity the company needed to develop a 5 year technology vision and roadmap to make the case for further investment.
Approach
We supported a biotechnology scale-up for four months to develop a technology vision, scope a technology roadmap of key projects to deliver the vision, and embed a ‘Technology Readiness Levels’ (TRL) process to manage the development of the company’s future technology capabilities and infrastructure.
Impact
A product vision was defined and communicated, helping to raise $39m in series D funding.
A technology roadmap and Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) process defined and embedded within the organisation that prioritised R&D investment and managed project delivery efficiently.
