Background

Two schools within a specialist Higher Education Institute were merging, bringing together three distinct teams, each with different subject matter expertise, resources, and goals.

We were asked to design an approach that would enable the smooth transition for staff on the journey from two schools to one.

Approach

We designed and led a change process to involve staff and graduates, from both Schools, in defining a shared vision and set of strategic priorities for a new School of Innovation and Technology.

After first co-creating a vision of the future school, through a series of 3 staff workshops, we then followed up to gain Graduate insights on this prospective change through an online survey and workshop.

Impact

Collective ownership of the new vision and strategy
Created by following a collaborative development process with staff.
Alignment among the senior management team
Shared clarity on what the merger would enable, and how this could be achieved.
