Background

With an ownership change, a leader in ‘meat free’ products – had ambitious targets to expand its portfolio through innovation. With limited internal capability, Graft was asked to codify the organisational approach to the front end of innovation.

Approach

After initial strategic groundwork and 'pilot projects', we developed a made-to-measure front-end innovation process to bring structure and clarity to early-stage innovation work, prior to commercialisation processes. This provided a clear, visual and memorable process model used for tracking project progress and on-boarding new recruits. After defining, testing and documenting these new processes we helped make it business as usual by training and coaching key members of the marketing, NPD and activity management teams through innovation projects.
